Carcassonne
Monday, we traveled from Arles to Carcassone, about a 3 hour drive. Carcassonne is very famous because it still has its double-walled medieval city, with a keep, cathedral, and lots of shops. Unfortunately, we had our first rain since Venice. Though the temps are still in the upper 60's, it feels a bit chilly after mid to upper 80's. After a short lecture on castle construction and defenses the students were free to wander the city.
