Arles, part two

We now have our coach so the group was able to visit the Pont du Gard This structure is part of the 30mile aqueduct that brought water to the city of Nimes. although the aqueduct is 30 miles long, it slopes only 40 feet along its length. The Pont du Gard is one bridge in the longer sequence. In fact, over 90 percent of the aqueduct is actually in underground tunnels. the Romans only used the bridges when needing to cross river ways

The Pont du Gard is 1200 feet across and 160 feet high, built of stone and concrete it was finished in 50 AD.

we also have two new members of our group. Andrea is our coach driver for the next week and Jessi Ann has a large beetle she has named Jaques.
